The service

Cyber Library is a structured knowledge base about cybersecurity: foundations, offensive and defensive practice, governance, intelligence and career. It is free. You can read every page without an account.

We may add, change or remove pages, features and translations at any time, and we may suspend the service for maintenance or security. We do not promise that the service will always be available.

Lawful and authorized use

The library describes how attacks work so that people can learn, defend systems and test them with permission. You may use what you learn only within the law.

  • Only test, scan or attack systems you own or have explicit written permission to test, within the agreed scope.
  • Do not use the content to access, damage or disrupt systems, data or people without authorization, or to commit any offence.
  • You alone are responsible for how you use the content and for complying with the laws that apply to you, including laws on computer misuse.

Using the website and services

Use the website, the search and the MCP server in a normal way. In particular, do not:

  • overload, attack, probe or try to break the website, its infrastructure or its security;
  • bypass rate limits, access controls or technical protections;
  • send automated traffic at a volume that degrades the service for others;
  • impersonate us or present your copy of the content as official Cyber Library content;
  • use the service to distribute malware or illegal content.

We may block traffic, sessions or accounts that break these rules, without notice when needed to protect the service.

Content license

The library content (the text of its pages and their translations) is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). You may copy, share and adapt it for non-commercial purposes, as long as you credit Cyber Library with a link to the page, indicate any changes, and share your adaptations under the same license.

For commercial use of the content, contact us first.

The license covers the content only. The Cyber Library name and logo, the website design and its source code are not licensed to you unless a separate license says otherwise. Details and how to credit the library are on our license page.

Contributions

The library is written in public on GitHub (github.com/Cyber-Courses/cyber-library). If you contribute, your contribution is governed by the Cyber Library Contributor License Agreement (CLA), which you accept on your first pull request. You keep your copyright and grant us the license described there.

You confirm that you have the right to submit what you contribute and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

Accounts

Signing in is optional and only adds features such as reading progress. It goes through Cyber Auth (www.cyberauth.co), the account service of the Cyber family, which has its own terms.

Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You can stop using your account and sign out at any time. How we handle the data linked to your account is described in our privacy policy.

MCP server

Our MCP server (www.cyberlibrary.com/api/mcp) lets AI assistants search and read the library. It is free, public and read only, and needs no account.

Content returned by the MCP server is the same library content and stays under the license above: when an assistant or its user reuses it, they should credit Cyber Library with the page URL that each result includes.

We may limit, change or stop the MCP server or any of its tools at any time, for example to protect the service from abuse. Answers produced by an AI assistant are generated by that assistant, not by us; we are responsible only for the library content itself.

No warranty

We work to keep the library accurate, but security changes quickly and the content can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. It is provided for information and education only, as is, without any warranty, and it is not professional advice.

Check the content against primary sources and your own context before relying on it, especially before acting on production systems.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage, loss of data, loss of profit or damage caused by your use of the content or by its unavailability. We are not liable for the use that you or others make of the content.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or anything that cannot be limited under applicable law, nor the rights that consumers hold under mandatory consumer law.

Links and third-party services

Pages link to other websites and rely on services such as GitHub. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices; their own terms apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If you keep using the service after a change, the new terms apply to you.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

If a dispute arises, contact us first at privacy@cyberlibrary.com so we can try to solve it. If that fails, the dispute goes to the competent courts. For disputes with professionals, the courts of Paris, France have exclusive jurisdiction.
